Arrive in Heidelberg

Arrived in Heidelberg this afternoon to grey skies. The town was so different from Rothenburg; more shops but still has lots of history.

This is our hotel in Heidelberg but we are nothing to do with the FU Academy next door.

This place was in the main shopping street. Australians probably wonder why this shop is full of tall Englishmen.

I was taking this picture of a baboon by the old bridge in Heidelberg but hadn't noticed the young boy running towards the camera.

And then he stood in front of the baboon and I obligingly took his picture.

Sad story here. These stones show the outline of a synagogue that was destroyed on Kristallnacht in 1938.

Lovely building with vines crossing its walls and windows. (Assuming it is a vine, I could stand corrected).

Came across this strange artwork in the centre of Heidelberg. Does anyone know what it represents?

This place is advertised as a café but it sells fruit and vegetables. Maybe it's a vegetarian café?

Large department store with Christmas market in front.

Germans doing what Germans do at Christmas markets.
